Red Fox Mini Boombox

The Red Fox mini boombox brings back the nostalgic appeal of the 80's cassette-playing radio, repacked, resized, and remodeled to the standards of the new millennium. It comes in a striking metal finish; the mini speakers on both sides. It plays MP3 and WMA files, and like the original boombox, it's got a built-in radio.

Turning the boombox on is a challenge. Only after fiddling with it do you understand that the "play" button powers this gadget up.

Weighing about two average compact cameras, this literal lightweight is an aural heavyweight. For its size, it managed to drown a decent-size room with clear, quality audio. It has 1GB of internal memory and a memory expansion slot; both good for at least 300 songs. The controls are easy to use too.

this mini gives justice to the classic boombox. Eighteen hours of continuous acoustic drowning ain't so bad, too.
